One effective way to clear poison clouds in Baldur’s Gate 3 is by utilizing spells like Fog Cloud and Gust of Wind. These spells can either displace the poison gas or replace it with a beneficial fog that benefits your party. While Fog Cloud is more commonly available, we recommend using whichever spell you have in higher supply.

Druid characters typically have greater access to the Gust of Wind spell, while wizard-based classes are more likely to possess Fog Cloud. However, you can also find scrolls for these spells throughout Baldur’s Gate 3. They can be purchased or discovered in various locations across the map. For quick actions, our Fighter carries a few Fog Cloud scrolls that can be easily cast in a pinch.

Companion druids like Halsin and Jaheira have access to both Fog Cloud and Gust of Wind spells.

In certain cases, you can also ignite naturally occurring poison clouds. However, it’s important to note that not all poison clouds in BG3 will respond to this method. Lighting the environment on fire may not always be the solution.

The quickest and easiest method to clear the poison cloud in Grymforge is by placing an item on top of the vent. It can be anything, from crates to books. Ensure that you throw the item directly on the vent to prevent the gas from escaping.

Removing Noxious Fumes

Noxious fumes typically originate from traps. To remove these fumes, you will need to locate and disarm the trap. In general, you can also ignite the fumes with fire-based spells or items, such as torches, allowing you to safely pass through the area.
