Is Sweeping Edge in Bedrock? Insights from Expert Patrick Souza

Enchantments are a crucial aspect of the popular game Minecraft, whether you’re a dedicated player or just indulge in occasional gaming sessions. And when it comes to your trusty sword, one enchantment that stands out is Sweeping Edge. This enchantment, exclusive to swords, enhances their effectiveness in combat. But here’s the catch: Sweeping Edge is only available in Minecraft Java versions and not in the Bedrock versions.

The absence of Sweeping Edge in Bedrock is due to the fact that the game does not feature the sword sweep move at all. This move allows players to perform a horizontal hit with a slight knockback effect, providing a defensive advantage against numerous enemies. However, in Bedrock versions, this move is non-existent, making the inclusion of an enchantment to boost its damage pointless.

While there isn’t a clear explanation for why Bedrock removed this maneuver, it’s worth noting that swords in Bedrock versions have higher base damage and no cooldown, which compensates for the lack of the Sweeping Edge technique. Consequently, swords remain powerful offensive weapons without the extra utility.
