Unlocking Starfield: Comprehensive Guide on ‘Access is Key’ Ryujin Industry Faction Quest

It’s time to level up in the world of gaming! In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to successfully complete the Access is Key quest in the Ryujin Industry faction in Starfield.

Step-by-Step Guide: Completing the Ryujin Industry Faction Quest “Access is Key”

Access is Key is the fourth quest in the exciting Ryujin Industry faction quest line, following the completion of A New Narrative. To begin Access is Key, make your way to the first floor of Ryujin Industries and enter Imogene’s office on the left.

Imogene, the quest giver, will provide you with the details of your next mission. This particular mission demands a high level of subtlety, so let’s dive right in.

Step 1: Purchase the Starfield Access is Key Uniform

First things first, you’ll need to acquire a suit, in case you don’t already have one. Head back to Neon Core or take the Ryujin elevator down. Close to the elevator, you’ll spot Ryujin’s exclusive shop, managed by Aito. Look for him standing right in the center. Here, you can explore and purchase suits ranging from 330~ to 600~ credits.

While purchasing this suit is not mandatory, I cannot stress enough how strongly I recommend doing so. Investing in this suit will greatly enhance your quest experience, making it significantly easier to navigate through challenges. Moreover, the benefits are twofold – not only will you enjoy a smoother journey, but you’ll also recoup your Credits.

Embark on a Journey to Gagarin

Gagarin, a captivating planet nestled in the Alpha Centauri System, awaits your arrival. It is worth noting that this system boasts both the renowned Jemison and New Atlantis. However, Gagarin, although slightly less picturesque than its Jemison counterpart, has its own unique allure. To begin your adventure, simply locate Gagarin Landing on the star map or access it through the quick travel menu.

As you step into the scene, you’ll witness a heated exchange between an investor and the formidable security chief of Gagarin. But let’s put that aside for now and focus on the task at hand.

Make your way straight ahead along the metallic pathway, and there you’ll find the vigilant security officer that we must engage with.

Engage in a Conversation with the Guard

Now, let’s explore the options available to us:

  • Convincing the guard through persuasion.
  • Cleverly pickpocketing the guard.
  • Taking more drastic measures by eliminating the guard and searching her belongings.

Each option presents a unique path forward, offering distinct opportunities and consequences. Choose wisely as you navigate through this thrilling encounter.

Persuading the Guard

If you want to persuade the guard, make sure you have the suit equipped. Approach the guard and politely request her key card. Prepare yourself for a persuasion check, where you’ll need to gather four persuasion points to convince her to hand it over. Fortunately, this guard is quite easy to persuade, so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Pickpocketing the Guard

If persuading the guard is not an option or you prefer a more “sneaky” approach, consider pickpocketing. To successfully pickpocket, you’ll need at least one skill point in Theft. However, be cautious as the guard often roams around openly, making detection a high risk. To increase your chances, try crouching behind her and carefully interact with her to grab the security key. It’s recommended to attempt this at night when there are fewer people around.

Killing the Guard

While it’s not the ideal solution, killing the guard is a last resort option. Keep in mind that this will result in a deduction of your pay from Imogene, and if witnessed by others, they will turn hostile towards you. In the event that you choose this option, aim for a long-distance kill with a sniper rifle to maintain your safety. The map provides verticality, so finding a spot to hide shouldn’t be a problem.

Please note that Imogene strongly advises against killing the guard, as your mission is to avoid being caught.

Return to Imogene

Once you have the security card in your possession, head back to Imogene. The reception you receive from her will vary depending on the option you choose. If you successfully complete the mission flawlessly, you will be rewarded with two MedPacks and a generous 2,500 Credits.
