To explore the vast reaches of space in Starfield, it’s essential to enhance the Grav Jump range of your ship. This can be achieved through two key factors: improving your total fuel capacity or optimizing your fuel efficiency. Let’s dive into how you can accomplish both.
Increasing Total Fuel Capacity:
To increase your ship’s total fuel capacity, you’ll need to equip better Fuel Tanks. Visit your nearest Ship Services Technician and engage in a conversation with them. Look for the dialogue option “I’d like to view and modify my ships.” This will allow you to access the Ship Builder interface, which is located by using the designated key displayed in the bottom right of your screen. By opening the Ship Builder, you gain control over various ship customization options.
Within the Ship Builder, press the Add key and navigate to the Fuel Tank tab. Here, you can select the Fuel Tank with the highest amount of Grav Jump fuel. For example, the Titan 550 He3 Tank provides 160 Fuel, making it an excellent choice for enhancing your Grav Jump range. Remember, your available options may vary depending on your skill levels.
Improving Fuel Tank Options:
If you want to expand your selection of Fuel Tanks, investing in the Starship Design skill within the Tech tree is crucial. Advancing your level in this skill will unlock additional Fuel Tank options, giving you more flexibility in customizing your ship and optimizing its Grav Jump capabilities.
By upgrading your Fuel Tanks and mastering your ship’s fuel efficiency, you’ll be able to venture further into the unknown and unravel the mysteries of the Starfield universe.
If you find yourself needing more range but can’t upgrade your Fuel Tank any further, don’t worry! There’s another way to increase your range on your spaceship – by upgrading your Grav Drive. By improving your Grav Jump Thrust, you’ll directly impact the range of your Grav Jump. In my case, I opted for the RD-2000 Beta Grav Drive, which perfectly suits my ship’s design.
Enhancing Grav Jump Range with Skills
You’ll be glad to know that you can also boost your Grav Jump range through skills. In the Science tree, there’s a skill called Astrodynamics. At level 1 and level 3, this skill increases the range of your Grav Jump. Additionally, at level 2 and level 4, it reduces the fuel cost of Grav Jumps by 15% and 50% respectively.
