Tera Raid Virizion: An In-depth Guide by Expert Jesse Vitelli

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have introduced exciting new Tera Raids for players to conquer and enjoy. In Pokemon Scarlet, there is the formidable Walking Wake Suicune, while Pokemon Violet presents the challenging Iron Leaves Virizion. These thrilling five-star Tera Raids will be available until March 12, 2023. For all trainers venturing into Pokemon Violet and facing the Iron Leaves Virizion Tera Raid, here are some of the best counters to ensure victory.

The Iron Leaves Virizion, being a level 75 Tera Raid, is not as difficult as the previous seven-star Tera Raids featuring Charizard, Cinderace, Pikachu, and Greninja. However, it still poses a worthy challenge, as it boosts its attack power with Swords Dance, hitting with incredible force.

While dealing damage to Iron Leaves is manageable, surviving its onslaught can be the real struggle. Trainers should opt for Pokemon with high durability while also possessing the ability to deal substantial damage to Iron Leaves.

A fantastic choice is Ceruledge, as it can withstand psychic attacks like Psyblade, a move frequently used by Iron Leaves. Additionally, its Dark-type moves will swiftly dismantle Iron Leaves.

Another reliable option is Skeledirge, a Pokemon that many trainers may have already leveled up significantly. Its Ghost/Fire typing puts it in a similar category as Ceruledge, granting it advantageous resistances.

If either of these Pokemon is level 75 or above, trainers will be adequately equipped to tackle Iron Leaves either solo or with random players.

Houndoom, with its Dark Tera Type, is also an excellent contender for this battle. Moves like Foul Play can efficiently dispatch Iron Leaves. While Houndoom’s defense stat may not be ideal, trainers can enhance it through EV training if alternatives are limited.

Using pure Dark-type Pokemon is not advisable due to Iron Leaves’ devastating move, Megahorn, which can be critical against pure Dark types. Opting for Pokemon like Skeledirge, Houndoom, and Ceruledge, with their dual typings, will neutralize this threat and give trainers a better chance at victory.
