Prepare yourself for an immersive journey with Starfield’s faction missions, each offering a unique and captivating experience amidst a plethora of jobs. While the Crimson Fleet mission line stands out as the best in terms of side missions, there are several other missions that shine in their own way. One such notable mission is “War Relics” in the latter half of the United Colonies faction missions. Follow this walkthrough to successfully complete the War Relics mission in Starfield.
Starfield War Relics Walkthrough
The War Relics mission becomes available once you have completed the previous mission, “The Devils You Know,” along with other United Colonies missions leading up to it. Vae Victis, having dealt with his target, is now fulfilling his part of the deal. His plan involves gathering the members of Hadrian’s old team to study Terrormorphs, with one exception – Kaiser.
Here are the steps to complete the War Relics mission:
Step 1: Report to Hadrian
Before you can retrieve Kaiser and bring him to the lab, you need the assistance of Hadrian and Dr. Walker to convince him to cooperate. Find them at the Red Devils Headquarters on Mars in the Sol system. You might remember visiting this location during one of the earlier missions to meet Dr. Walker. Head inside the headquarters and make your way through the new staff members to meet with Hadrian.
As you finally have a chance to catch up, she casually mentions that there is an overwhelming amount of work in the Terrormorph data. But fear not, you had already anticipated this and arrived with a plan in hand. She might be curious about the source of your information, and you have the option to either be honest or keep it to yourself. Personally, I chose to tell her the truth, and it led to some fascinating discussions. I highly recommend taking this route, but ultimately the decision is yours to make.
Search for Kaiser on Niira: Uncover the Secrets
Once your conversation with Hadrian comes to an end, she will guide you to a hidden location where she provides you with a slate containing valuable data. In addition to this, she drops a bombshell – Kaiser is not a human, but a robot. Fortunately, Hadrian also shares with you the key phrase required to establish a cooperative connection with Kaiser.
Now, armed with this newfound knowledge and the necessary tools, it’s time to delve deeper into the world of Niira and uncover the secrets surrounding Kaiser. Take to the search on Niira and explore the vast possibilities that await.
Kaiser, a character of great importance, can be located on the fascinating planet Niira within the Narion system. Upon arrival, it is recommended to land at the unique Salvage Landing Zone, aptly named “1-of-a-Kind Salvage.” To enter, head towards the airlocks situated at the back of the nearest building.
Once inside, make your way to Gel and engage in conversation. Inquire about Kaiser’s whereabouts, and Gel will enlighten you with valuable information. Surprisingly, Gel claims to be unaware of Kaiser, but mentions a robot known as Captain Ahab who matches the description you seek. Fascinatingly, Captain Ahab has been on a relentless pursuit of a mysterious entity referred to as a Siren, although his presence has been scarce as of late.
Gel, being a helpful individual, presents you with two options to proceed. Firstly, you can embark on a quest to find Kaiser yourself, utilizing your own skills and intuition. Alternatively, Gel offers to sell you the knowledge he possesses regarding Kaiser’s location for a reasonable fee. At this point, you are faced with three choices:
- Option 1: Take on the challenge and find Kaiser independently.
- Option 2: Pay Gel a sum of 1,000 Credits in exchange for the desired information.
- Option 3: Utilize your persuasive abilities to convince Gel to lower the price to a more affordable 675 Credits.
I must confess, I managed to convince him and offer a payment, thanks to my surplus of Credits. However, the choice is entirely yours – you can opt for any path that appeals to you. In case you prefer not to spend any currency, it would be quite unfortunate if I were to mention that Kaiser can be found at Syracuse, the wreckage site situated at the opposite side of the salvage yard. But don’t worry, I won’t let that slip.
Now, let’s get back to the action! Make your way to Syracuse and locate the door on the side of the ship. Don’t worry, it’s not as daunting as it sounds. Once inside, you’ll come face to face with Kaiser. However, he’s in a bit of a sticky situation, covered in bugs. Quickly eliminate the pests and gain access to his voice controls using the password provided by Hadrian earlier. With his voice controls now unlocked, Kaiser will be free to assist you. But there’s a catch – he needs a MicroCell to power up.
Time to Hunt for a MicroCell
If you’re looking to acquire a MicroCell, the first step is to visit Gel at the 1-of-a-Kind Salvage. Speak to him again and he will inform you that he can procure a MicroCell for you, albeit at a hefty price. While you do have the option of searching for the necessary supplies on your own, I would highly recommend obtaining the locations from Gel himself. Alternatively, you can purchase a MicroCell directly from Gel, although it may not be the most cost-effective choice, as it comes with a price tag of 11,000 Credits.
When it comes to building the MicroCell, the first step is to gather all the necessary supplies. Once you have them, make your way to an Industrial Workbench. You can find these workbenches conveniently located inside the metal container cubes scattered throughout the scrapyard. Alternatively, there’s another workbench available in the 1-of-a-Kind Salvage building next to Gel’s office.
After successfully assembling the MicroCell, bring it back to Kaiser and power him on. At this point, he won’t immediately assist Hadrion. However, you can lend a hand in completing his original mission.
Accompany Kaiser to the Mission Site
Get ready for an action-packed adventure alongside Kaiser as you join him on a critical mission to take down a formidable Siren. As you arrive at the mission site, you encounter a swarm of Ecliptic forces surrounding the powerful “XW-99.” It becomes evident that their ultimate intention is to harness the Siren’s power for their own nefarious purposes. It’s time to enter the fray and unleash your wrath upon them. Kaiser is fully on board with this plan, and together, you will wipe out the enemy forces.
Keep in mind that the Siren possesses tremendous resilience, so be prepared for a fierce battle that requires ample ammunition. Prioritize eliminating the Ecliptic forces first, as they pose a long-range threat, while the Siren’s ranged attacks are relatively limited. Utilize boost packs and seek advantageous elevated positions to minimize its effectiveness.
Once you have successfully dealt with the Siren, regroup with Kaiser, who has now agreed to join you and Hadrian back at the Terrormorph lab. Return there and engage in a conversation with both Hadrian and Kaiser to conclude the War Relics mission.
