In order to unveil the imposter lurking amongst your companions in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must venture to the eastern section of the City Sewers. Unfortunately, conversing with your party members will not reveal the true identity of the doppelganger. Instead, I highly recommend making your way to the entrance in the Elfsong Tavern, which conveniently leads to the Emperor’s hideout within the sewers.
As you venture into the treacherous depths of the true sewers in BG3, you’ll come across Orin, who will join your party. Orin’s appearance can vary – it could be Gale, Lae’zel, Halsin, or another character. In my playthrough, Orin took on the form of Yenna, and I considered myself lucky. However, the form Orin takes is purely a matter of luck, and reloading can change it if you desire.
Once Orin is part of your party, she will offer a deal – if you assist her, she will release the true version of the imposter.
