Can You Save Wyll’s Father Without Mizora? Exploring Alternatives in Daphne Fama

A thrilling choice in Baldur’s Gate 3: Save Wyll’s father or break Mizora’s pact?

In the captivating world of Baldur’s Gate 3, the persistent and intriguing character Mizora presents a formidable challenge to Wyll, the beloved lawful good warlock. She forces Wyll to make an impossible decision: should he break his pact for his own freedom or prioritize saving his father? This dilemma raises an important question: Can Wyll have it all, even after breaking Mizora’s pact?

The good news is that there is a way to save Wyll’s father, even after breaking the pact with Mizora. However, this solution is only temporary.

Mizora’s contracts are known to be binding and inflexible. During Wyll’s Blade of Frontiers quest in Act 3, Mizora explicitly states in the contract that Wyll’s father will eventually meet his untimely demise at the hands of an enemy. However, it is possible to intervene and save him before Gortash, the enemy in question, has the chance to harm him. This rescue mission is worth undertaking as it will grant you a formidable ally for the ultimate battle.

Before delving further into the details, please be aware that the following information contains minor spoilers related to Duke Ravengard. Proceed at your own risk.

Wyll’s father, the esteemed Grand Duke Ravengard, is currently held captive by Gortash in the Iron Throne. Fortunately, the Iron Throne is not too far away. Located south of The Blushing Mermaid Tavern, the Iron Throne can be found in the Flymm Cargo basement.

If you’re ready for an epic adventure, prepare yourself for the basement of excitement in Baldur’s Gate 3. Here, you’ll find a sunken city and the formidable Gortash, who is determined to flood the place. Your mission? Free Duke Ravengard and other potential captives within the next eight turns. But beware, Mizora, the ever-present antagonist, will try to impede your progress.

Despite the challenges, fear not! With skill and determination, you can rescue Duke Ravengard from the clutches of the Iron Throne and bring him back to safety. As a result, the Emperor will wield his influence, cutting off the Absolute from Ravengard’s mind. This breakthrough allows Wyll and his father to finally reconcile, creating a powerful alliance and triggering an exciting new side quest.

However, if you choose to use Detect Thoughts on Mizora, you’ll discover her nefarious intention to kill Ravengard. Fortunately, the reunion between Wyll and his father takes place before this grave threat manifests.

But what happens if you fail to save Wyll’s father?

The death of Wyll’s father, though unintended, leads to an outcome where Mizora persistently interferes, determined to see him dead despite your efforts. However, Wyll will soldier on as a free man after grappling with grief. Mizora, driven by a desire for justice following her capture at Moonrise Towers, remains by your side, offering her services as a valuable ally in the battles to come.

Yet, it is crucial to note that failing to save Wyll’s father means missing out on an intriguing quest filled with captivating lore and surprising revelations. While it may technically be possible to complete the quest without Duke Ravengard’s involvement, doing so would leave you without the vital context. That is why we highly recommend saving Wyll’s father, Duke Ravengard, in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Now, you might be curious about the repercussions of sleeping with Mizora. Rest assured, there are indeed consequences!
