Destiny 2 is all about the loot, and managing your gear can be quite the challenge, especially if you’re striving for the best possible stats for your character. Luckily, there are several free apps available to help streamline this process and save you from spending hours sorting through your vault in search of that perfectly rolled armor. One such app is the Armor Picker (Armor Optimizer) for Destiny 2. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use it:

1. Download the Armor Picker app and open it.
2. Authorize your account with Bungie.Net. This step is crucial, as it allows you to make changes to your Destiny account through your phone. You may be prompted to log into your account, so go ahead and do so. Then, enable DIM sync.
3. Select the platform you play Destiny on. If you play on multiple platforms, you can select them all. Grant Armor Picker access to your account.
4. Once you’re logged in, the fun begins. You’ll be presented with a menu screen displaying all of your playable characters. Click on the banner of the character you want to create an armor set for.
5. You’ll then be taken to an armor menu. Check each armor component (Helmet, Arms, Chest, Legs), as they will be considered during optimization. These sections should already have armor pieces selected by default.
6. Return to the armor menu for your character. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find a large burgundy-violet button labeled “~Run Optimizer~”. Click on it.
7. The optimizer will generate a variety of armor sets. The first one shown will be your current armor set, along with a rating such as “Eh, could do better.” or “Lookin’ good, Guardian!”
8. The higher the rating number, the better the potential set. Click on “equip set” to automatically equip the recommended armor set in Destiny.
