Embarking on the challenging Gauntlet of Shar is no easy feat, but once you’ve conquered the stealth-based trial, it’s time to tackle the thrilling Faith Leap Trial in Baldur’s Gate 3. This particular trial is unforgiving, as a single wrong move can lead to instant death for your character. However, fear not! Step-by-Step Guide: Completing the Faith-Leap Trial in BG3
The Faith-Leap Trial awaits you in the depths of the Gauntlet of Shar dungeon. It is one of the three puzzles that must be solved to overcome this formidable challenge. Located at the Grand Mausoleum, this dungeon holds particular significance for Shadowheart, as she is a devoted follower of Shar.
To successfully conquer the Faith-Leap Trial, you must navigate across an expanse of transparent ground, avoiding any shadows that loom in your path. Any misstep will result in being teleported back to the beginning or worse, the demise of the character you are controlling. As a precaution, we recommend assigning one character for this trial while the rest of your party patiently waits behind.
When tackling the Faith-Leap Trial in BG3, it’s crucial to choose a character with abilities like Fly or Misty Step for effortless traversal. But before you embark on this exciting challenge, remember to offer a drop of blood to the sacrificial bowl. Forgetting this step will require you to start over.
Once you’ve made the sacrifice, activate your character’s traversal ability. In our case, we used Gale and had him cast the flight spell. With flight activated, we were able to make three jumps to reach the other side. However, be cautious and strategic with your jumps. Avoid stepping on any of the shadows in the room, including those on elevated platforms and the ground.
How to Solve the Faith-Leap Trial in BG3:
- Select a character with Fly or Misty Step abilities.
- Sacrifice blood into the bowl.
- Fly or jump to spots on the floor that are clear of shadows.
- Avoid shadows at all costs.
- Use throwables to test if the floor is traversable.
- Jump onto the platform at the end to claim the Umbral Gem.
Initially, you might be tempted to follow the shadows, but that would be a mistake. In reality, you should avoid them completely. Look for floors that appear transparent, as those are the walkable paths. Fly or teleport to clear spots until you reach the final statue and gem.
Tips and Strategies for the Faith-Leap Trial in BG3
Before taking on the Faith-Leap Trial, consider these helpful tips and tricks:
- Take advantage of the zoom feature, allowing you to easily examine the markings for reference.
- Save your progress frequently using quick save.
