Juno Starfield: Ultimate Guide to Achieving Different Juno’s Gambit Endings

Embarking on the Juno’s Gambit side mission in Starfield is an unforgettable experience. What starts as a seemingly ordinary encounter with a mysterious ship quickly evolves into a thought-provoking exploration of the essence of “life”. In this gripping mission, your created character finds themselves caught in a tense standoff between Juno, a renegade AI, and two Ryujin operatives. The choices you make during this mission will shape the outcome, so the question arises: should you spare or eliminate Juno? Let’s delve into the various ending choices available in Juno’s Gambit in the mesmerizing world of Starfield.

Exploring the Endings of Juno’s Gambit in Starfield

Embarking on the Juno’s Gambit quest in the game can be quite a challenge, as it largely depends on a random event. To initiate the quest, you’ll need to activate this chance encounter. One method to do so is by heading to the Tau Ceti system and navigating towards the orbit of Tau Ceti 3. Once there, make sure to approach the enigmatic ship and board it. Engaging in a conversation with the operatives aboard will trigger the start of the quest.

Juno’s Gambit offers a total of three possible endings, each having its own unique outcome. Two of these endings involve violence and bloodshed, while the third offers a peaceful resolution for all parties involved. Here are the available ending options:

Bad Ending: Choosing to Side With the Ryujin Operatives and Changing Juno’s Fate

If you decide to align yourself with the Ryujin Operatives Collins and Khambatta and choose to connect the AI Control Board to Juno, the result is quite dramatic. Instead of Juno perishing, the sentient computer undergoes a significant transformation. As a consequence, Collins and Khambatta take over the Mysterious Ship under their control. When you eventually return to your own vessel, Juno comes back online, expressing a deep sense of “anger.” Shockingly, Juno proceeds to vent the oxygen and disable the life support systems on the Mysterious Ship, resulting in the unfortunate demise of both the Ryujin operatives. And without further ado, Juno propels itself out of the system, ultimately concluding the mission.

If that weren’t enough, brace yourself for the possibility of encountering a vengeful Juno once again during space combat later on. However, it’s worth noting that this potential encounter has not yet been confirmed.

Neutral Ending: Aligning with Juno and Eliminating the Ryujin Operatives

When it comes to choosing Juno’s side, you have two options. Firstly, you can attempt to negotiate with the Ryujin Operatives, seeking a peaceful resolution and fighting for the freedom of your new AI companion, especially if you haven’t aligned yourself with the Ryujin Industries faction. Alternatively, if you opt for a more confrontational approach, you will find yourself engaged in a battle against the operatives. This choice will ultimately lead to the neutral ending.

If you decide to engage in combat with the Ryujin operatives, rest assured that they will scale to your level, providing a thrilling and fair challenge. However, don’t worry too much as they shouldn’t be overly difficult to defeat. It’s always a good idea to have a companion or crewmate by your side for added backup, especially if you’re playing on a higher difficulty level or find yourself running low on ammo. Plus, defeating the Ryujin operatives will reward you with various valuable items. For instance, they drop ammo, credits, and even weapons such as the coveted Magshot pistol.

Once you successfully save Juno, the AI will seek your input on how it should make use of its newly acquired freedom. Regardless of the suggestion you provide, the mission will conclude in the same manner. You will head back to your spaceship, and an appreciative Juno will depart to another star system. Juno will also express the potential for future encounters further ahead on the journey.

Achieving the Good Ending: Persuading the Ryujin Operatives to Depart

If you’re looking for a peaceful resolution in the thrilling quest “Juno’s Gambit,” you’ll first need to align yourself with the Ryujin Industries faction. Without joining their ranks, it’s unlikely the quest will even appear. But don’t worry, once you’re a member, you’ll have the option to pursue the pacifistic route.

To choose this ending, simply side with Juno and select the dialogue option affiliated with Ryujin Industries. This will convince the operatives to stand down, avoiding any unnecessary bloodshed. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to provide them with a ride back to Neon in your own ship to ensure they’re not left stranded.

Once the confrontation is settled, Juno will make her exit from the system. As you return to Neon, you’ll have successfully completed the mission, knowing you’ve chosen the peaceful path to resolve the conflict.

Which Ending Should You Choose in Juno’s Gambit?

When it comes to choosing the ending in a game, the XP received remains the same, and the difference in credits and loot is negligible. Being an RPG, the decision should be based on your character’s personality or what you personally believe is morally right.

Unique Interactions with Juno After the Mission

Players have reported some interesting interactions with Juno after completing the mission. Although we can’t guarantee that these events will occur in the game, knowing about them might enhance your own playthrough. Here’s one reported interaction:

After initially choosing to destroy Juno, siding with the operatives, she killed the men and disappeared. However, in a different location, Juno unexpectedly engaged in combat with the player. Piloting a level 32 ship named “Juno,” the battle commenced with some dialogue. Although the player couldn’t board the ship after destroying its engines, defeating it didn’t yield any loot. This encounter hints at the possibility of another random encounter in the future.
