Uncovering the Mayor’s Briefcase DMZ: Looting, Phalanx Faction and its Strategic Uses

In Warzone Season, there’s a highly sought-after item known as the Mayor’s Briefcase, and it holds immense value. This key is part of the Vondel key chain and serves as a gateway to two GPUs and top-tier loot. Obtaining and utilizing this key in Warzone DMZ can greatly enhance your gameplay.

Since Season 4 Reloaded, the key chain system has been in place. Season 5 continues with this system, making the Mayor’s Briefcase Key particularly challenging to acquire. As the first key in its chain, there are no specific bags, caches, or crates that guarantee its appearance. Players must rely on two methods to obtain it.

Looting

The first method is through looting. Although unreliable and time-consuming, players may come across the Mayor’s Briefcase Key by searching various crates, bags, and even clothing found in residential areas. While this method is not guaranteed, stumbling upon the key during gameplay can bring you great fortune.

Phalanx Faction

Fortunately, there is one known method to secure the Mayor’s Briefcase Key with certainty. This involves completing the Tier 4 Mission called “Hunter” within DMZ’s Phalanx Faction.

As a Tier 4 Mission, Hunter is incredibly challenging, and players must have already completed the majority of Tier 1, 2, and 3 Missions in the Phalanx Faction to unlock it. The objectives for this mission are:

  1. Complete 3 hunt contracts in a single deployment.
  2. Successfully exfiltrate.

Completing Hunter rewards players with 15,000 XP and reputation for the Phalanx Faction, in addition to the coveted key. Hunt Contracts can be found on the map and are marked with a contract emblem featuring a skeleton’s face. These contracts require players to locate and eliminate specific enemies, resembling assassination missions.

The task of completing three hunt contracts in a single deployment may seem daunting, as the opponents are tougher than typical bots and will provide a greater challenge. Persistence and skill will be necessary, so best of luck in your endeavors.

Discovering the Purpose of the Mayor’s Briefcase Key

Now that the elusive Mayor’s Briefcase Key is finally in your possession, it’s time to embark on a thrilling quest to locate the briefcase that once belonged to the esteemed mayor. While the fate of the mayor remains a mystery, one thing is certain – they left their briefcase behind as they hastily departed from Vondel.

You’ll find the abandoned briefcase resting on a bench situated to the west of City Hall and east of Vondel University. To ensure you find it swiftly, refer to the accompanying image on the left that depicts its location in the northern part of the map. Finding the Briefcase on a bench shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge. Just keep an eye out for the shiny metallic case. However, reaching it without getting caught is a different story.

City Hall is heavily guarded, with multiple AI patrolling its grounds. The Briefcase is located inside a locked building along with many other bots. Our suggestion is to approach from the north side, using the road as your entry point, and slowly make your way south.

By following this strategy, you’ll be able to eliminate the bots closest to the Briefcase without alerting every single one in the area. It’s also advisable to use a suppressed weapon to maintain stealth. Once the coast is clear, make your way to the Briefcase and interact with it using your key.
