Getting Your Raid Assignment in Modern Warfare 2: How-To’s and Essential Kits

Prepare for an adrenaline-pumping experience with the latest addition to Modern Warfare 2 – Atomgrad. This thrilling cooperative mode continues the gripping story from the campaign and kicks off the first episode in a five-season series. In Atomgrad, you and two other players will embark on challenging missions, braving intense battles and aiming for valuable raid rewards.

However, participating in Atomgrad requires some preparation. Unlike other game modes, there is no matchmaking available for this new addition. To enter the fray, you’ll need to earn a raid assignment and assemble your own team. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with all the information you need to navigate Modern Warfare 2 raids, including how to obtain a raid assignment and more.

Obtaining a Modern Warfare 2 raid assignment

Before you can embark on a raid, you must acquire a raid assignment. Fortunately, obtaining one is relatively straightforward. Simply complete one of the following tasks:

  • Finish a specific daily challenge in multiplayer or Spec Ops.
  • Secure a spot within the top 20 of any Warzone 2 battle royale playlist.
  • In DMZ, escape using the final exfil helicopter with at least $30,000 in cash.

Keep in mind that raid assignments are valid for only one week. So gather your squad swiftly and jump into action. Remember, there is no matchmaking available, so it’s up to you to find and invite players to join your team.

Completing the Atomgrad raid holds the promise of exciting rewards, including:

  • Gaz Convoy skin
  • Player card
  • Emblem
  • Loading screen
  • Unique weapon blueprint (guaranteed if you complete the raid on veteran difficulty)

Though not the most dazzling of rewards, they are still worth pursuing, especially the coveted unique weapon blueprint.

Kits

In the exciting world of Call of Duty, there’s a new feature called Kits that will spice up your Spec Ops experience. Similar to your multiplayer loadout, Kits consist of Perks, Killstreaks, and Field upgrades. By accomplishing missions, completing objectives, and progressing in the game, you can earn stars to level up your Kits. It’s crucial to aim for three stars in the first three Spec Ops missions to reach at least Rank 5 with one of your Kits.

Let’s take a look at the three unique Kits available:

  • Assault Kit: Equip the Armor Box Field Upgrade to enhance your armor’s effectiveness. As you progress, you’ll unlock faster Loadout item usage, increased armor capacity, and even receive free Stims.
  • Medic Kit: The Stim Pistol Field Upgrade grants you the ability to revive teammates from a distance. As you level up, you’ll also gain a free Bomb Drone, benefits similar to the Double Time Perk, free Claymores, and anti-tank mines.
  • Engineer Kit: With the Snapshot Pulse Field Upgrade, you can detect nearby enemies. As you advance, you’ll unlock the ability to restock Lethals and Tacticals over time automatically, have an increased equipment allowance, and receive a free Heartbeat Sensor and Spotter Scope.

Now that you’re armed with this knowledge, you’re ready to dominate the battlefield in Modern Warfare 2 Raids.
