Exploring Rat Treasure BG3 Shar: An In-depth Look at the Famed Daphne Chronicles

Should you accept the rat’s treasure in Baldur’s Gate 3?

When venturing through the Gauntlet of Shar in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll encounter some rather unpleasant rats. However, their behavior is not without reason. With some careful investigation, you can uncover their cursed reality. Despite this, the rats are determined to keep their secret and are willing to offer you a valuable treasure in exchange for your departure.

In your quest to find the last Justiciar, Yurgir, in the Gauntlet of Shar, you might discover that these talkative and sometimes aggressive rats hold the key to your success. But be prepared for some tough negotiations if you want them to cooperate and stop bothering you.

Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to accept the rat’s treasure is up to you. However, it’s important to note that the treasure they offer is not particularly remarkable.

If you choose to accept their bargain, you will gain access to the location where the rats have hidden their treasure. However, what lies behind that tile is a modest reward consisting of 93 Gold, a Sylvan Stone, and a Pegasus Feather.

The choice is yours to make, but weigh the value of the reward against the cost of dealing with these cunning rats in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Unveiling hidden treasures and unlocking powerful items is an exciting part of any game, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception. In this quest, the Sylvan Stone and Pegasus Feather hold the key to crafting the sought-after Oil of Diminution and Elixir of Heroism. Though the rewards may not seem extraordinary at first, they can prove invaluable in your journey.

However, it’s important to note that Astarion, one of your party members, may not approve of your choice. While it may be disheartening to have his disapproval, remember that your ultimate goal is to assist Yurgir.

If you decide to pursue this prize, make your way towards Shar’s feet and locate the treasure just before the jump. Nevertheless, be prepared, as reaching the broken ledge may require special abilities like Misty Step, Dimension Door, or a character with exceptional strength.

Once you’ve reached the treasure’s location, head to the left of Shar’s altar and approach the column. Only then will the tile reveal itself, waiting to be interacted with. However, be prepared to accept the rat’s bargain if you want access to the treasures.

If, on the other hand, you choose not to accept the rat’s bargain, you will face the challenge of defeating the rat horde. Overcoming this formidable obstacle will eventually lead you to a confrontation with Lyrthindor, the Last Justiciar. Succeed in defeating him, and your victories will be rewarded with the Justiciar’s Scimitar and Justiciar’s Greatshield.

Both options discussed above are exponentially superior to whatever Lyrthindor concealed behind that tile. Their capabilities and features far surpass anything we’ve seen before.
