Boosting Starfield View Companion Affinity: Console Commands Explained!

Discovering how your companion feels about you can sometimes be tricky, but fear not! There is a simple way to gauge their affinity in Starfield. Allow me to guide you through the process.

If you’re playing Starfield on PC, checking your companion’s affinity level is a breeze. However, on Xbox, it’s a different story, and determining affinity becomes a challenge without resorting to guesswork.

To check your companion’s affinity level on Xbox, you’ll need to utilize console commands. There are three console commands that you need to be familiar with:

  • GetAV COM_Affinity
  • GetAV COM_AffinityLevel
  • GetAV COM_AngerLevel

Keep in mind that using console commands on Xbox will disable achievements in Starfield. Unfortunately, at present, there’s no way to fix this issue without modding. Your only option to re-enable achievements is to completely wipe your save data.

To use any of the console commands mentioned above, open the console by pressing the “~” key on your keyboard. You may see a message warning you that certain commands will disable achievements. If this message appears, simply press the “~” key again to close it, and open the console once more.

With the console open, click on your companion, and you should see a message that looks something like “NPC_’CompanionREF’,” followed by a string of text. For example, in my case, Andreja’s message reads “NPC_’AndrejaREF (000059A9).” If you don’t see this message, you may need to adjust your positioning a bit. From here, you can start experimenting with the commands.

All Affinity Console Commands and Their Meanings in Starfield

If you’re playing the game “GetAV COM_Affinity,” you may come across a value ranging from 0 to above 1300. This value represents your companion’s affinity towards you. The higher the value, the better your companion thinks of you. Your choices and actions, such as being liked, loved, disliked, or hated by your companion, can cause this value to fluctuate. However, if you engage in unethical behavior, like killing innocent NPCs in the presence of your companion, their affinity will swiftly drop to 0.

To check your companion’s affinity level, you can use the “GetAV COM_AffinityLevel” command. This will display a value of 0.00, 1.00, 2.00, or 3.00. A value of 0.00 indicates a neutral state, 1.00 represents a friendly relationship, 2.00 signifies a romance that is not yet committed, and a value of 3.00 indicates a committed relationship or marriage with that companion.

Additionally, you can use the command “GetAV COM_AngerLevel” to determine your companion’s anger level, which will display a value of 0.00, 1.00, or 2.00. A value of 0.00 implies that the companion has no issues with you, 1.00 suggests they are annoyed with you, and 2.00 indicates they are very angry with you.

How to Boost Your Companion Affinity Using Console Commands

If you find yourself in a situation where your companion is upset with you in a game, don’t worry! You can manually adjust your companion’s affinity stats to improve your relationship. All you need to do is use the following commands in the console (without the brackets):

  • SetAV COM_Affinity [0-1300+]
  • SetAV COM_AffinityLevel [0, 1, 2, or 3]
  • SetAV COM_AngerLevel [0, 1, or 2]

By using these commands, you can set your companion to the desired affinity level. However, please note that this may have unintended consequences, as the game is not designed to have multiple companions married simultaneously. So, use these commands at your own risk.
