Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Dismiss Party Members and the Role of Madison Benson

As you embark on your adventure in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll meet a variety of characters who can join your party and assist you in battles. These companions play a crucial role in your progress through the game, providing tanking, healing, and damage-dealing abilities. However, there may come a time when you need to dismiss a party member who isn’t fulfilling the role you need or doesn’t fit your current strategy.

To dismiss a party member in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can simply talk to them while you are in the overworld and ask them to return to your camp. Although they may initially respond with hurt feelings, you can confirm your choice to send them back and remove them from your party. Once they are dismissed, you have the freedom to recruit someone else or invite the dismissed member back later if you change your mind.

It’s worth noting that you can only dismiss party members who are alive, as you need to speak to them to initiate the dismissal. If a character is dead, you’ll have to pay Withers to revive them before you can have the conversation.

There are several benefits to dismissing party members in Baldur’s Gate 3. It allows you to swap out characters and recruit new ones who better suit your needs. If you find a companion to be too weak or incompatible with your party’s composition, dismissing them provides an opportunity to find someone more suitable. Additionally, you can even invite another player to join your party if you prefer cooperative gameplay, but keep in mind that you’ll be together for the remainder of your playthrough.
