Defeating Oliver BG3: Tactics, Rewards, and Secrets of the Family of Shadows

Embark on thrilling quests in the Shadow Cursed Lands of Baldur’s Gate 3, with one such exciting task being Oliver’s hide-and-seek game. If you’re in search of the elusive little Tiefling, we’ve got you covered with the exact hiding spot in Baldur’s Gate 3.

To locate Oliver, head towards the front of the house, where you’ll find a wagon. Positioned right next to a cliff, this is where Oliver has chosen to hide. Once you’ve agreed to play hide and seek with him, you’ll find that he consistently starts his game from this very spot. Simply step outside and position your character near the cart or wagon.

Imagine stumbling upon a magical world where small orbs float gracefully, hinting at the perfect hiding spot for a thrilling game of hide and seek. This is exactly what we encountered in our adventure, where we had the chance to challenge Oliver in a battle of wits and cunning. While there was an option to use reveal spells to light our path, we decided to rely on our instincts and embarked on a quest to find Oliver without any assistance.

Upon reaching the cart, the excitement grew as Oliver begrudgingly acknowledged our victory and demanded a second round. Now, we faced a crucial decision – engage in a battle against his formidable Family of Shadows or take on the challenge of hide and seek once more.

Choosing to Battle the Family of Shadows

If you dare to face the Family of Shadows in combat, prepare yourself for a formidable and challenging fight. The family consists of three powerful foes – Mummy, Daddy, and Doggy. These creatures possess unique abilities including special attacks and Necrotic attacks. Be especially cautious of Doggy as it has the ability to inflict status effects, such as prone. To increase your chances of victory, prioritize eliminating the Wraiths before dealing with Doggy.

Opting for Another Round of Hide and Seek

For those who crave another thrilling round of hide and seek, be prepared to test your stealth skills against Oliver’s family of shadows. Utilize the element of surprise by having your party members hide while one of your stealthiest characters tracks down Oliver. Remember to remain vigilant and keep an eye out for those magical orbs that may reveal Oliver’s hiding place in the house.

The Reward for Outsmarting Oliver – The Ring of Shadows

If you manage to successfully defeat Oliver in two intense rounds of hide and seek, your perseverance will be rewarded with the highly coveted Ring of Shadows. Although the ring itself doesn’t possess overpowering stats, it grants the wearer the level 2 Abjuration spell. This spell bestows a remarkable +10 roll on all stealth checks for both the caster and the entire party.

Carrying this ring of stealth can prove to be invaluable during future endeavors, such as exploring the daunting Temple of Shar in Baldur’s Gate 3. So, if you’re up for the challenge, we highly recommend going for the double victory in hide and seek. However, if the shadows prove to be too overwhelming, don’t hesitate to defeat them and continue on your heroic journey.
