Baldur’s Gate 3 Necrotic Aura: Comprehensive Breakdown and How to Take a Long Rest

Discovering more about Gale and his condition in BG3 can lead to a surprising challenge: Necrotic Aura. But don’t worry, there’s a way to eliminate this unpleasant effect. Let’s dive into how to get rid of Necrotic Aura in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Understanding Necrotic Aura

Necrotic Aura is an aura that inflicts 1-4 Necrotic damage on nearby players every turn. When Gale falls in battle, he emits the Necrotic Aura status effect. Interestingly, he also returns as a ghost, triggering a fun quest to revive him. However, the damaging aura persists until you complete this quest, so it’s crucial to act swiftly.

To remove Gale’s Necrotic Aura, all you need to do is take a Long Rest. In our playthrough, we initially felt confused about how to deal with this issue. Remember, there’s no other solution for Gale except a Long Rest. We even attempted water spells, but they proved ineffective.

Once we tried a Long Rest, Gale’s Necrotic Aura was gone, and he was back to his vibrant self. Although there’s a chance you may wake up with the Bloodless status effect, it’s a relief to see Gale back in action and smelling much better.

How to Take a Long Rest in Baldur’s Gate 3

To take a Long Rest in Baldur’s Gate 3, locate the Campfire button at the bottom right of the user interface and click the Moon icon. Currently, a proper night of rest is all it takes to rejuvenate Gale. Unfortunately, there are no mainland spells or cold showers to remove his condition. Just ensure you have enough Camp Supplies for a restful night, and you’ll be good to go.
