In my personal experience, I chose to separate my characters and send only one on a sneaky mission. Additionally, I cast the spell Invisibility to ensure detection avoidance. If you lack the Invisibility or Misty Step spells to aid your maneuvering, fear not. Enter turn-based mode and press ‘c’ to crouch. Pay close attention to the red zones and swiftly dash to cover, avoiding any incoming fire from the Magic Turrets.

Once you have arrived at the Arcane Tower, the next step is to find your entry point. No need to barge through the front door – a conveniently open window on the left side is your ticket in.

Unlock the Magic of the Mundane Chest in Your Adventure

While exploring the first floor, you may encounter some formidable turrets. Fear not, as there are various ways to navigate around them. Make your way to the right and discover the entrance to a balcony, where an intriguing treasure awaits – the Mundane Chest.

Approaching the chest triggers a perception check, and if successful, you’ll notice the unmistakable aura of magic emanating from within. Although the chest appears to contain only mundane items, the real magic happens when you start looting.

Each item taken from the chest will transform before your eyes, revealing its true nature. Among the hidden treasures within the Mundane Chest, you’ll find a Scroll of Protection from Evil and Good, Mystra’s Grace boots, Scroll of Mage Armour, a Gold Ingot, and a Hearthlight Bomb.

Discover the Mundane Chest’s Secret Utility

Aside from its enchanting contents, the Mundane Chest has another useful feature. Anything stored within it will be significantly lighter, weighing only .05 units. This proves incredibly handy if you have a penchant for collecting every item in your adventures. However, be aware that the chest does have its limits. After filling it with 125 items, it will no longer reduce their weight.

Once you reach this threshold, it’s wise to seek out a merchant or enlist the help of your companions to carry the additional loot. Apologies to Lae’zel, who may end up playing the role of a loot mule temporarily!

While having the Mundane Chest is great, it won’t do you much good if you haven’t found your way to the Underdark or the Arcane Tower yet. Thankfully, there are multiple ways to reach the mystical Underdark.

1. In the Blighted Village, take a leap of faith and jump down the Whispering Depths chasm beside the Matriarch Phase Spider.
2. Sneak into the Defiled Temple located in the Goblin Camp.
3. At Waukeen’s Rest, the Zhentarim Hideout will grant you access to the Underdark if you can find it and take the lift down.
4. In the Riverside Teahouse, explore Auntie Ethel’s basement to find her trusty teleporter.

Once you’ve successfully made it to the Underdark, your next task is to head south and follow the path that leads to the highly sought-after Arcane Tower.
