Mastering the Headlong Mission Destiny 2 Puzzle: A Comprehensive Guide to Solving

The Destiny 2 Lightfall Headlong puzzle has been causing some Guardians to scratch their heads. But fear not, because we’ve got you covered with a step-by-step guide on how to solve it.

If you’re an experienced Destiny 2 player, puzzles like these will be a walk in the park. However, with the recent surge in player count on Steam following the release of Lightfall, there are many newcomers diving into one of the best free PC games out there. If you find yourself in that category, you might be less familiar with the game’s various puzzles, including the Headlong puzzle found in The Root of Nightmares raid. But don’t worry, we’re here to help you conquer it.

How to Solve the Destiny 2 Headlong Mission Puzzle

You’ll come across the Headlong puzzle in Liming Harbour in Neomuna, near a Lost Sector. It begins with a locked Vex gate, and you’ll need to defeat a Vex minotaur and some Goblins before four Harpies spawn. Here’s where the puzzle begins. Some of the Harpies will be glowing, while others won’t. It’s important not to shoot them right away, as this is part of the puzzle. The glowing Harpies are called Cation Harpies, while the non-glowing ones are called Anion Harpies.

Instead, direct your attention to the crystals above the gate. Some of these crystals will also be glowing. The order in which you defeat the Harpies is determined by the order of the glowing crystals. Starting from the far left, follow the pattern of glowing and non-glowing crystals, defeating the corresponding Harpies accordingly. It’s crucial to allow the crystals to register that you’ve defeated the Harpies before moving on to the next one. If done correctly, the gate will open, allowing you to proceed.

As you continue through the mission, you’ll encounter this puzzle mechanic again. Simply follow the same steps as before, reading the crystals from left to right and defeating the corresponding Harpies.

The third encounter with this puzzle is slightly different. This time, you’ll face a mix of glowing Cation Harpies, non-glowing Anion Harpies, and regular Harpies. However, the puzzle structure remains the same – follow the pattern dictated by the crystals while avoiding the regular Harpies.

That’s all you need to know about the Destiny 2 Headlong puzzle. If you need help with Destiny 2 Downfall or any other challenges in this incredible multiplayer PC game, we’ve got you covered.
